I think you're correct, i read from the pms man page:
BUGS
This program is very immature, and lacks critical fea
tures.

Running here, i found the node to be more configurable

Some people choose to run (aditional) programms, like tnos, fbb, tnt,
dpbox, dxnet, or perhaps even axspawn (with ax25d).
