I hate to contradict you but I use both kernel routing and tnos and use
kissattach between them, you must have the ax25 utils running , but it
works well . I dont have the ax25 conf file here at work but if you
e-mail me at home "fiq.mdrw@herc.net.pl"
the other advantage is that listen will show traffic between the kernel
and front end.

1. You are using the options for slattach. Kissattach is different.
See 'man kissattach'.

2. It also looks like you are trying to set up a pseudo-tty link (like
between the kernel and tnos or jnos). kissattach won't do that, you
need
to use either slattach or dip. kissattach is for attaching a TNC to a
serial port. With the older kernels, slattach was used for this, but
they
are not interchangeable.
