'man listen' but you probably have read that already, i suggest you use tcp
dump to monitor your connection to 204.183.201.1, as that is the server
which according to what i see here is causing "loops".
I mail to gygk@hopeservices.org wa3nna replies sync's and sendmail starts
to send the mail, however i receive the following.
IP: len 90 204.183.201.225->44.137.28.48 ihl 20 ttl 61 tos 192 id 14077 offs
4640000 eant as a test.......--..Regards Richard PA3GCU.................
0040 ......
204.183.201.255 is echoing my mail back to 44.137.28.48, that could make
life very difficult for me, as numbers other than 44.xx.xx.xx are not
supposed to be transmitted here in the Netherlands.
nslookup 204.183.201.225
can't find 204.183.201.225: Non-existent host/domain
I rather think you need to check your routes, and the system in general
That could certanly explane the long ping times you describe.
