Stuart,

2.0.33 is the version of the kernel you are currently running. This
won't necessarily be the version number for your Slackware distribution.
But that's okay because it does give a darn good idea of what your kernel
has available to it "out of the box". But, the dhcp package that was
mentioned uses Red Hat's rpm method of package... well... packaging.
:-) Unless slackware can process rpm'ed packages (like caldera and
(?)others) I don't know if you'll be able to use Red Hat's dhcp rpm. But
there just has to be a non-rpm'ed one out there!
