John,

Check the linux-hams archive. There is a glibc-ized version of the
ax25-utils-2.1.42a on ftp.ucsd.edu in pub/incoming.. blah blah blah. With
that and one change to (if I remember right) rose.h in the linux header tree
you should be good-to-go..
