BBS message forwarding

I have tried TNOS, F6FBB and DPBOX and all fail miserably on my system
(F6FBB even crashes the kernel). Therefore, I had a thought. I have on
another system Windows/NT running MS Exchange on it. What if I take one of
the Linux BBS systems re-code it and do a message store and forward over to
MS Exchange via SMTP? This is a *very* simple mechanism but I have no idea
if it can be done, I just now thought of it.
Does anyone know if this can be done? (I don't mean forward SMTP messages to
Exchange that's easy it's just and MX record in the DNS) I mean port a
regular BBS system to Packet Radio? One like "drealmBBS", "xbbs", or others
that come with a Linux distribution?
Is this a stupid idea?
