Hi all !
I had also problems with tx underuns, I was so unhappy. Than I found what was
problem at my side.
When I set in /etc/z8530drv.conf file escc yes, then TX underruns are not so
often, and my RIG doesn't stay long on TX (as it stay when escc was off).
Also, my SCC card works perfectly, before after 20-30min at 38400bps it stops
transmiting packets and it was unable to work.
So, try changing escc paramter to yes.
Maybe this is only possible in my cases, because it depend on SCC chip, too.
I have S5-PCC card (Slovenian version of Baycom USCC card) with Zilog Z8530
chip.
