OK, the ip address is 44.98.2.5, and the problem is he doesn't
see me. For a bit, the nodes were actually talking to each other
but he didn't receive anything I sent. Now, he's not even getting
the node to send again.

I did what you suggested, but I don't even hear his packets now. AT all.
I think this kernel supports multiple routes tho, I remember reading
something about it in the HOWTO.
Anyways, still no real progress. 73.
