OK, here what I have now. I can receive node broadcasts over
the axip port. I see the node, and he sees me, but when we
try to connect, I get nothing.

The guy I'm trying to connect to is a tnos box. Is this something to
do with encapsulated slip ? I can't see why though, when I see his
broadcasts clear as day, and he sees my connect requests. What am I
doing wrong here ? I know I'm no expert at this, but this is making
me look like a real idiot, and the guy giving me access to the gate
is losing his patience. Any help is appreciated.
