I see this same behaviour as well. I have my IP add in hosts yet sendmail
insists on doing a lookup on my add for every message I send. I have spent
a lot of time trying to fix this with no luck. I don't want to have to run
named. The solution may be in sendmail.cf but after spending days editing
that file to fix other problems I just don't have the heart to struggle
with sendmail again soon.
