Hello Guys and gals,

I am sorry that I keep flogging a dead horse, ie FAQ on the subject,
but!!!!!!!

I am going nuts!!!!

I can see no reason for my problem.

Problem:

LINUX 2.0.31 + ax25-utils-2.1.42a + net-tools-1.33.rose.tjd

I can ping/telnet/ftp/nntp, receive smtp

BUT

Can not send SMTP.

Routes point to our local gateway (ie ip router vk3rpp [44.136.72.1].
"ping vk3blw-1" yeilds 100% of return ping's
"telnet vk3blw-3" (blw-3 is our local nntpserver) gets the usual JNOS
signon messages etc.
"ftp vk3blw-3" gets me a common jnos ftp> prompt that I can use.
I have received several (about 6) messages from vk3blw-1 (our local smtp
server) but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

via pine a message to "vk3blw@vk3blw-1" simply sits on my system till mail
daemon mail is created saying that mail could not be delievered!

Sendmail starts up as........

sendmail -bd -q 15m

yet nothing is ever sent.

please please please help me. I **want** to use linux soley for my ax25
activities however this problem is very dis-enchanting and heads me back to
JNOS under WIN95, which by the way, works 100%.

Is it a routing problem, a daemon problem, a configuration problem a
"mark" problem, I have RTFM till I am blue in the face or fast asleep,
which ever comes first but still no ideas come to mind!

Arrrrgggghhhhhh

Just a stress release yell.

regards

Mark
