Hi Terry, as you may have forgotton, when you reboot linux the
kernel puts all defaults found in some file somewhere that is not under
/proc/sys/net/* as you say. I have verified they return to "default" with
every reboot.

So I have your fix in rc.local that goes:
$ echo 234 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/ax0/packet_length > /dev/null

And in this way when I reboot, not often, it resets them AFTER the kernwl
changes them again...:-)

Things are right here again...I think...hope.
