Your old soundblaster most likely does not even do 9k6, as it
probably cannot sample faster than 13 or 15 kSps.

The maximum bandwidth a modern soundcard can sample is approx.
20kHz (per channel). So 19k2 PAM (that is FSK on the air,
like G3RUH) would fit into a soundcard (BW approx. 10kHz).
But compared to the current 9k6 approach, you'd need some
polyphase input filtering - certainly doable on a P5, probably
too much on a 486.
