38 or 56 KBds : How ?

Hi all,

I'm preparing a fast full-duplex SHF link at 38 or 56 Kbds. What could I use
under Linux to generate the data and to modulate/demodulate my link.

My idea is to use the standard TCP-IP of Linux on this link to be able to
make a remote maintenance and then transport over TCP-IP my AX25 with
encapsulated frames.

operation takes a lot of processing and this solution does not appear to be
suitable for my project at higher speeds.

I also heard of ethernet cards. But is it possible to make them running at
these "slow speeds" ? Has somebody made such an experiment ?

Thanks for your comments,
