Well i dont have this problem, however i have used Terry Dawsons patch:
net-tools-1.33.rose.tjd.diff The patch adds 'rose' support to the tools and
solves a small problem with 'netstat' and maybe your problem as well, altho'
i have not looked to see.

I imagen you could just edit ./net-tools-1.33/Makefile line 147 and just
delete 'savebin' and see how far you then get.
Maybe someone else has a more inteligent answer for this particular problem.
