When I went to mit and got the new library it had the obligatory
README with it that said in 2,000 words !BE CAREFUL!. I was careful and
the tar part went without a hitch and I thought I was home free.

So then I wrote "hello world" and tried to compile it. Got a
string of "Cant't find it" messages. Then bash started to complain that it
could not find things and began to crash.

On the other computer I had the HOWTO's on CD-Rom so I looked at
the gcc HOWTO and it said to be sure that blah blah sim links were in
place. So I looked and they appeared to be in place but I re-made them
just in case.

Then read the ELF HOWTO and got some more sim links information
and did that. Then rebooted and it came up working. Bash was fine and gcc
works as it should. I suppose I should ftp to mit and get ver 6 and do it.
It will not take all day again. I know which HOWTO's to read.

I wish the nice people at mit who write the libraries also liked
to write README's...:-) Or get the guy who writes the kernel README to
write one for library upgrades.
