I used net-tools-1.3.50-BETA6f-ax25 until 3 months ago and i dont seem to
have come accros this problem.
I think they were complied with 2.0.0 and i used them until i upgraded to
1.33 with Terry Dawson rose patch.
Used from 2.0.0 (i think) up to Kernel 2.0.30, now with ax25-utils-2.1.42a
ax25-modules-14d and nettools 1.33.

The only real problem i have is dying interfaces, (still seen with ifconfig
but just sit there ignoring connect requests), ax25d does not die but does
not answer any requests on the dead interface, i have traced it down to
Joreg's z8530drv driver, its a memory problem, seemingly in the scc driver
itself. On a dead interface, cat /proc/net/ax25 shows:

dest_addr src_addr dev st vs vr va t1 t2 t3 idle n2 rtt wnd paclen Snd-Q Rcv-Q
* PA3GCU-9 ??? 0 0 0 0 0/003 0/00 0/300 0/000 0/10 1 4 256 0 0
Note the 'dev' it should show scc0
