I am not far enough along with this to tell you yes or no on any problems
with KISS mode in my KPC3+. I have turned KISS on, but without the other
networking installed and working correctly, it is not useful yet. I have so
far just been talking to the TNC through minicom to set up parameters,
monitor the packet cluster, etc. I have it plugged into one of my Cyclades
ports and have minicom set to talk at 19200 to /dev/ttyC6.

No, the 7.0 ROM is old. Mine is still 7.0, but they have superceded it with
version 8.2 (of course, it is not a free upgrade):
