Serial config for KISS port

Hello all,

I have a problem ...
$
Data is getting garbled between my TNC and PC, when running at anything
over 4800 baud. The TNC appears to work fine with another PC, so I am
lift with the conclusion it is my PC at fault, although I have tried
using another serial board with the same result.

One thought I had was that using some form of handshaking, and parity
checking might improve the situation, but I cannot find any way of
configuring this in Linux. The situation was identical under DOS, and I
had assumed it was a problem with JNOS there ... hence one reason for the
upgrade to Linux. But the situation is still the same. I really need at
least 19200, and preferably 38400 to work - the TNC is 2 port, one of which
runs at 19k2. And when this is operative, it hogs the serial line at 9k6 meaning users cannot connect on the other 1200 baud p
ort.

Anybody got any clues what is the cause of the problem, awhat is the solution
and will using parity checks / handshaking help. If so, how do I do it.

The PC is a 20Mhz 386 Compaq.
