Everything I want in my case, is small text like this:
SP9YZT Linux node>
or even:
SP9YZT>
This looks nice, and people will not disturb me, why on the
node where I'm sysop prompt does not exist.
So I'll try to find `prompt' in the source and recompile it
to satisfy my needs.

This is because, people common accept everything they get.
Prompt is the least important thing in this software, so
they do nothing to change it. But you could think not only
about the part of world you live. In this part prompts are
uneseseary and You like it. In my part - Europe (Poland),
people panic :-) when is no prompt - they think that the
transmission is not finnish. So am I! I hadn't notice
this <empty line> after every output of node...

No, but you may write a code, to set the prompt as the user want!
IMHO in node.conf should be line like this:
prompt=off
or
prompt=on
and when prompt is on, next line like this should be active:
prompt_style=[things like in PS1 string in linux shell]
Is this difficult to include needs of rest the world ? :-)
I know, if above configuration switches will exist, many
people will set own prompt and be happy.

Ok, my is the second, let's wait. Maybe at the 1000
requests you include it :-))
