Then i suggest you are not setting it correctly.

Sorry i dont agree.

The IRTT is Initail Round Trip Time, it can be worked out somthing like
this. An mtu of 256 bytes at 1200 baud takes roughly 2 seconds to transmit,
then 2 seconds to be transmitted back from the remote stn, so now we have 4
seconds, add 1 or 2 seconds for any other sigs on freq, and now we have say
6 seconds, so you set you irtt to 6000 like this.
route add 44.xxx.xxx.xxx window 944 irtt 6000 <ifc_name>

You keep asking questions here to the group, have you asked W3BG how he sets
his paramters, he seemed to have an mtu of 256 in the origanal listen trace,
cant remember if he has his window set tho'.
It should understand it, you have still not mentioned exactly what you are
using, you mentioned kernel 2.0.30 and ax25utils, but not which version, if
your having problems, and want a decent answer, please include the following
with your next mail.
kernel version, is the kernel patched with a ax25-modules-xx patch,
ax25-utils version,
and considering you say the window param is not understood by 'route' then
net-tools version. Do 'route -V'
