Hey Terry, wait a sec. Pete made an interesting remark, it is no sense to
be telneting with an AX25 packet per keystroke or so... Ethernet does allow
this mode, not AX25, whether it is 1200 or 9600 bauds !

How do one telnet from a Linux box to another Linux box forcing the "line"
mode, i.e. sending a packet while hitting the return key ?

When I telnet from my Linux box to a local JNOS box, the default telnet mode
is line mode, then it is Ok (at least to read a few mail messages...).

I am pretty sure Pete has a clean 1200 bauds channel, in my area (Paris), the
1200 bauds link is not practicable for telnet, the login timeout expires
after 1 mn blabering, before I get a chance to type my password...
The 9600 bauds link is Ok, a bit faster and less congested.
