Klaus,

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate any and all feedback
as I'm very new to packet and relatively new
( about 8 intense months ) to Linux.

This is a brand new system so I assume I have to learn routes

I restarted it with -s ( and & to run in the background )
and still the files do not exist ...
( What does the -s do, and are there other options ?
there is no man page, only a fairly good README )

Now at least it says
ax25rtctl connect: No such file or directory

I don't know !! :-)

I did a ps -x and ax25rtd -s is shown, however there is no
socket ( file? ) /var/ax25/ax25rtd/control
The directory /var/ax25/ax25rtd exists, but it is empty.

Here it is - the #'s are my comments here and not
necesarily in the conf file:

ax25-maxroutes 256
ip-maxroutes 256

# this is my 1200 baud 2 meter port on sl0
[radio1]
ax25-learn-routes mine

# the next line in the conf example describes a DAMA master. I don't
# have the slightest clue as to what that is and put the local club node
# in here. It's probably wrong as I don't believe it's a tcp/ip node, if
that
# matters.
ax25-add-path wb2vpy-7

# I'm not sure about this one either. these ssid's are configured in
# my ax25d.conf kb6fst-10 is my <netrom>
ax25-more-mycalls kb6fst-1 kb6fst-10

# I followed the instructions on this one ie: don't change it if you
# don't know what you're doing - and I don't :>)
ip-learn-routes no
ip-adjust-node no

# However, I did change this one
arp-add yes

# That's it

It's a brand new setup and I don't think there are any routing tables
that I'm aware of, but then again this is ALL new to me, so what
do I know.

Thanks again
