ax25rtd questions

My first question is ' What exactly is ax25rtd for ??'

I fired it up to find out what would happen and I'm apparently running
into a
problem. My system is a 80386 with Linux 2.0.29 and ax25-utils-2.0.12c

I have no files : /var/ax25/ax25rtd/control
/var/ax25/ax25rtd/ax25_routes
/var/ax25/ax25rtd/ip_routes
Should I go to this directory ( /var/ax25/ax25rtd/ ) and ' touch control
' , etc ??

I have started the ax25rtd and when I run ( for ex. ) ax25rtctl -- list
ax25
the system returns " ax25rtctl connect: Connection refused

Can someone give me a clue about all of this ??
