Until one of the distributions demonstrates a strong committment to
amateur radio by providing a good complete list of prepackaged
amateur radio software none of them have any particular edge
for amateur radio operators.
I again encourage you, any of you, to take a look at what is involved
in packaging software for your favourite distribution. There is a little
bit to learn to start, but once you've learnt the idiosyncrasies of the
packaging tool you can actively assist other amateur radio operators
by simplifying the installation procedure for amateur radio software.
Contribution of time and effort is the best way to assist the linux
community and movement.
