Richard,
The only development kernels to use are the latest ones. If you're
going bleeding edge you need to be prepared to follow the kernel updates.

Any recommendation that you might get will be based on the experience
of the person issuing it. Any number of factors may make that kernel
unsuitable for you, particularly differing hardware.

I recommend grabbing the latest one, trying it out. It's your best bet.
