I think your response was unwarranted. First, the original post was simply
telling the truth, saying that he was not a licensed radio amateur. However, I
think there was a clear implication that he might choose to become a licensed
radio amateur if he felt that he could work with data communications.

Second, the original post was from Romania. Neither you nor I have any idea
what is legal in his country. In the U.S., for example, it is illegal to use
CB to pass data, but that is legal in most other countries. In the U.S., there
are bands set aside for fairly unrestricted commercial data use, such as the
900 MHz allocation for unlicensed spread-spectrum.

Obviously, I don't condone any kind of illegal operation, but what is legal is
going to vary a great deal depending upon the particular national regulatory
characteristics. Especially in the former Eastern Bloc nations, many of these
rules are still in flux.
