i just got my SuSE 5.0 distribution in and installed it on my
'spare' linux box this weekend... it took me 3 tries (installed
3 times) to get everything working correctly... i attribute
this to operator (me) problems...

the distribution comes with 4 cd's and a very nice book...
one of the cd's is a live file system that will allow you
to run linux without installing it on your hard disk...

i have installed just about every flavor of linux on my
'spare' box to compare distributions... the 'best'
distribution, as far as ease of install and setting up
a nice working environment is caldera open linux standard,
next would be the SuSE distribution...

$50.00 bux (+$40 for motif 2.0) for the distribution and
the book is very reasonable if you value your time...
