Have you run

ifconfig bpq0 <my-ip> hw ax25 <my-call>

first? Replace <my-ip> with your IP number and <my-call> with the
callsign for this port, for example:

ifconfig bpq0 44.128.20.106 hw ax25 dl0xxx-10
