Hi John.
Yes a best way to get started will be to connect the TNC to an
open com port on your computer. It will be tty00 to tty03 or so. Be sure
to use the proper address. Turn on minicom and tell it to look for the
proper com port. Then turn on and off the tnc. It should write the
sign-on message every time you turn it on.
After that try to connect to a TNC in KISS mode with your
ax25-util tools. This is more confuzing but it works. I have my packet
bbs running in Linux and going out to 3 tnc's on com ports.
