If it its told to do it in the correct manner it should.
/usr/doc/modules/* will give a good insight as to how.

John, maybe you missed the bit on modules, AX25-HOWTO part 5.1 has a very
detailed description about them.

Thats what happens when someone just installs a linux system, and jumps
right into modules and "expects" them to magicly "know" they are needed.
