Looks like it could be some sort of problem with the end-of-line
conventions. But I really can't say anything else if you don't provide me
with any information about your system. What version of node, ax25-utils,
in.fingerd etc.
I can only say that it works just fine for me:

That was with my latest alpha version of node and with in.fingerd from
NetKit-B-0.08-14 redhat package.

Any finger??? What does that mean? Didn't you say that fingering from the
shell works just fine? Or from [jt]nos?
