Sorry to be a newbie, I have skill in HF contesting but not in
Linux (I improve...) but after a long quest (searching on CDROM) I
have not been able to get a non shadowed /bin/login and /bin/su.
I use the Slackware 3.2 with a 2.0.30 kernel (2.0.29 of CDROM +
patches for 2.0.30) and the only login and su I found are on the
shadow package. If I remove this package, I lost login and su.
If I convert with pwunconv the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow file
to get the new /etc/npasswd, then copy it instead of the old
/etc/passwd, it seems to be ok, but as I try to install CLX (clone
of PacketCluster), I have still problems. When typing su - postgres
I switch to the postgres environment but with the following error
message /dev/tty1 : Operation not permitted. A look on ~/.profile or
/etc/profile didn't help me (/dev/tty1 is the first console from I
login).
The simpliest way, I think is to switch to a non shadowed login since
I have application not compatible with it like axspawn. But how ? If
any have a solution, he is welcome !
