When I started with Linux I too tried that version which runs in a DOS
file system. It does load but it is not good. So later (like 2 weeks) I
made a DOS partition of like 80 meg and made that a Linux native drive
and using the fdisk in Linux got it set up.
This version of Linux worked like it is supposed to. I ran out of room so
I made the rest of the hard disk a second Linux filesystem. It is still
working that way.
You must have 500 meg free on that giant hard drive Mark. Try loading
Linux on there. Then set up Lilo so you can boot up either Linux or DOS.
You will find this works real good.
