I have noticed the same symptoms from time to time, but my setup is with
an Primus board (SCC) and the SCC driver. Interestingly (?) enough, I
also see the symptoms when I run WNOS on DOS. The SCC driver in WNOS is
- I believe - the ancestor of the Linux SCC driver. The SCC chip in
question is an ordinary 8530 which has a 3 byte rx FIFO. Perhaps the
problems are related?
