Anybody know of an available C compiler and friends for the Z80 that I
could run under Linux, or DOSEMU or (gasp) even actual DOS. I am toying
around with doing some APRS stuff and need to make a few small changes to
the X1J4 code. I wasn't able to tell from the source code which particular
cross-compiler Dave, G8KBB, had used. Looks like GCC doesn't have any
support for 8-bit architecture machines....
Hopefully I'm close enough on-topic not to get flamed for being
off-topic. I did already prototype the code changes I want to make to
X1J4 under linux and I do have an X1J4 TNC plugged in to my Linux
machine.
I hadn't realized that X1J4 has KISS mode as well as the other
crosslink stuff as an option and that unlike a conventional TNC2 in
KISS mode X1J4 continues to do its normal stuff (NET/ROM, L2
digipeating, etc.) while connected to a host. Very useful since I
always thought it was a waste of my TNC2 to not do any of that basic
stuff (digipeating specifically) and that I had to reimplement it in
the host.
