The short answer is grab the latest AX25-HOWTO from:

http://sunsite.unc.edu/LDP/HOWTO/AX25-HOWTO.html

and substitute:

ax25-module-12.tar.gz -> ax25-module-13.tar.gz
linux-2.0.29 -> linux-2.0.30
Modify and use /usr/src/ax25-utils-2.1.37/node/etc/node.conf
ignore references to 'nrctl' and 'rsctl'

I'll update the HOWTO appropriately (with some other changes to make
it more clear exactly what kernel options should be chosen to get each
hardware type) sometime soon.
