Karl, Tim told us what he's using. I disclaim any expertise on Fast Ethernet,
but I know that it uses UTP and not multiple flavors like 10mpbs Ethernet
(not sure if 100mbps fiber optic falls under "Fast Ethernet" or not, but
it's pretty clear that Tim wasn't talking about fiber). Tim provided enough
information for someone familiar with the technology in question to make a
good start toward answering his question.
Mike's response seemed perfectly reasonable to me.
I know you try to be helpful, Karl, but so very often you respond to questions
that you really don't know anything about. It gets a bit tiresome.
