naming of ax25 ports..

Gday all,

I have recently just built kernel 2.0.29 + module 12 & the 2.1.22b
axutils successfully (?) and have been playing around with setting up
my axports / ax25d files.. (not leading edge but at least I'm doing
it)

ANyway, if I have an axport in the axports file aka

VHF1 VK5XKN-0 etc..

and then I have a few entries in the ax25d.conf file, aka

[VK5KN-1 via VHF1]
etc..

_BUT_ i do not have a [VK5XKN-0 via VHF1]

then if a user attempts to connect to VK5XKN-0, the connection is
accepted....

The question is why ?.. ie why do the callsigns in axports allow
connections to be made whent there is no associated entry in
ax25d.conf ?

Thanks in advance

Kym
