Here is what I am trying to setup:

Linux kernel 2.0.29 + ax25-module-12
ax25-utils-2.1.22a

I compile the kernel with the module-12 patch in place. I select all the
correct options and compile/install/reboot. No problems here. I compiled
and installed the ax25-utils-2.1.22a. When I try to do a kissattach, I get
the following:

axutils: invalid symbol in callsign W5AC-15
(as stderr output)
and
ERROR 'ax0' busy and not MOD_IN_USE.
(in the syslog)

I have successfully installed this same setup on 2 other computers, the
only difference being that the 2 successfull installs were on 486's running
redhat 3.0.3 or 4.0 and the unsuccessful install is on a Pentium running
Slackware version ??? (I am not sure, but the kernel and all the
necessary utilities are updated I think) I did not compile the various
components as modules, so I do not need to insmod them as far as I know.
I can successfully use the tnc via minicom, I just cannot get kissattach
to attach the device. I get similar results when trying a nrattach.

Can anyone give any insight as to what might be causing this problem.
I think it may be more kernel related, but I am unsure. Thanks for
your help.

Jason
