named does all sorts of wonderful things. It is *the* DNS program.

It's a bit hard to go into the intricate details of named configuration
here. The short answer is wherever you tell it in /etc/named.boot

I suggest you do a lot more reading up on name servers, they can be tricky
things to setup.
