Since I sent him the portion of the Manual I am writing it would
seem that he is very unhappy with that, though it was not mentioned. But
since he finds me so stupid it may well be that he will disapprove of my
writing as well.
Facts are that I have Linux working very well and I am learning new
things about it almost every day. I have a two port axattach working great
too. The tcp/ip part is working very well and I get mail from JNOS and other
Linux just fine. And everyone gets my smtp as well.
FBB for Linux is doing great! It is bullet proof and I have 1700
messages on it now. I will never return to FBB under DOS since it crashes on
average of once a week. The netrom is working fine. After Jonathan told me
the initial obsoleanse is six I was able to reset my system to five and this
has reduced the number of BAD nodes to almost zero!
In fact since I learned to use the programs that are part of the
ax25-utils set to lock the routes in netrom it works fine. If you do not do
this it allows the initial Quality of a route to drop to ten! Not sure why
but locking them ends this problem.
So with everything working well it makes no sense for me to return
to DOS. So I have told Jonathan that this won't happen. I am sorry he thinks
I am stupid. Since I told him I had trouble understanding his e-mail about
netrom yesterday he explained that everyone but me understands it fine. I
can't help that. But I can help being a problem to him. To this end I will
send him nothing, and stop trying to help others with my bad advice. The
time is better spent writing my Manual.
