What version of Linux are you running? In later versions you require a
mheard daemon running for it to work.

That's the problem with DPBox, you don't use real TNCs, you use host mode
ones. and they have to be exclusive for DPBox.
I believe you *might* be able to get DPBox going by;
creating another AX.25 port on a pty
attaching tfkiss to the other side of the pty
attaching DPBox to the tfkiss.
