Yes its an interesting problem. The simple advice is to set an IP address
on such interfaces to something, make it the same address as your AX.25
ports perhaps ? I wonder if someone (Alan ?) can explain why this
happens. It probably deserves to appear in the AX25-HOWTO as a "gotcha"
type problem.
