ax.25 in-band digipeating of UI frames & aliases

Hello,

I am playing around with doing some APRS stuff, which is based entirely
on UI frames addressed to a variety of desintations such as APRS and
via generic digipeater aliases such as RELAY, WIDE, and GATE. Am I right
in assuming that I will need to use/modify a program like axdigi in order
to provide the digipeater function (e.g. there is no in-kernel digipeating
support for aliases?). I've already modified ax-utils-2.0.12's beacon
to accept command line arguments of the digi path (equivalent to UNPROTO
TNC command) so that my station beacons APRS-style. And I've used listen
as the starting point for an APRS monitor (collects UI frames, makes them
available to javAPRS, etc.)

I'll be making the mods to axutils available shortly once I finish debugging,
hopefully to be accepted by Jonathan(?) for inclusion in the
distribution....
