Agreed, I also think after we devise a linking plan we also need to have a
secondary backup link plan so that when a node that is in trouble, the
whole system does not go crazy with all the nodes scrambling for spots
where ever they can be found.

Apsolutely positively! This also can remove the control from the sysop to a
user, that usually has no idea of the link topography.

I suggest k4uj as the link from NA to EU he has a fast site, his users
enjoy the spots from europe, and has a linux based jnos package that is
very stable.AC4ET would be a good choice for backup. My node would not be a
good choice since my users and connected nodes are not interested in eu
spots. My personal feelings are different, but that is another story. I
have political problems here too, maybe not as intense as in other areas.

By arangement on convers or email? Since there are some hidden nodes on the
ak1a and now dxnet packages (-ext protocole) it is important for all the
major forwarding node sysops to be involved, otherwise we have loops or
double spots.
