More on "clx_ctl" and callsign ?

Many thanks to Zoli, HA6OI, for his suggestion concerning writing errors
to tty8, tty9, tty10 (he said it was an idea from PA3ERC). This was a
big help. Also, the comment about using "wrong libc" version.

We are running Linux Redhat 5.1 using glibc. How can we get clx to
work with this library or how can we install the "old" libc (5.4.46)
and still maintain system integrity for other apps that may require
glibc? (We get "callsign: ? " while running clx -u).
