Yes it does, I did the same as Filip, so I had to compile an utility found
in some Slackware cdrom, called makeisofs. Simply you have to name a
directory or some directories to search in, and then almost automagically
you have
a clean iso9660+Rock Ridge extension image of all the files contained in
the source path named. I did myself the whole image of my hard disk then I
transfered the file to my other machine, which has the cdr writer.

Well I think you must have a kernel version up to 2.0.30 ( am I right ?) to
read joliet cdrom.
