My face is RED with embarrassment. After I got your note and then went to
the administration screen and hit F1, it was all there. I guess that last
night I went brain dead and missed that!!! Anyway I have that all working
now and thanks.
The situation here is that we have an internet gateway VE9DAP-8 which is in
Fredericton New Brunswick. The cluster VE9PT-9 is connected full-time to the
gateway and then via a wormhole to K1XX. I link to VE9PT-9 as my feed and it
is about 210km from here and the link is 95% UHF which makes it very fast
and stable.
Both the sysop at VE9PT-9 and I have been running DXNET for the last while
as it carries the mail and bulletins, but it is very unstable and we are
always frigging with it. I like the Clusse as you boot it up and forget
about it. Neither one of us are willing to pay the big $$$$ for the
Packetcluster software especially now that it takes almost $1.44 CDN to buy
$1.00 US HI!
When I checked into the cluster last night your friend Roy mentioned that
you had switch to CLX. We downloaded that a few days ago and sent the email
away to register the call. VE9PT has linux up and running and just waiting
for the call confirmation. I checked into GB7MBC and the CLX program looks
very powerful. I had a chat with Ian the sysop and just not sure if I am
ready for Linux HI!
VE1YX mentioned that he had been keyboarding with you and I believe that
they are going to try to link with your cluster. They are installing a
gateway just for the cluster so if they link with you I might set up a
listen only link with them. No point having three of us spanning the
Atlantic all getting the same thing :-)
That's the story from this end. Thanks for your help
Vernon
